Is Montblanc Explorer as good as Aventus?

Montblanc is getting very popular and the reason why I think is popular is because it's a known tube for Aventus from Creed.

Aventus is a very popular but very expensive fragrance also they seem to have issues with different batches smelling a bit differently. I'm not the biggest fan of Creed Aventus when I first smelled it. I had to train myself to like it.

Montblanc Explorer

I really enjoy the bottle actually it is really cool I like this leather. It's not leather obviously but it's a leather-like feeling and material. The little logo it's very minimalistic.

The bottle

I really like the cap even though it's not the highest quality but it's still good quality for like a designer fragrance. I really love the design I think is quite unique. I love that they have followed through from the cup design at the front to the back. So for the bottle, I would give this a 9 out of 10. I like minimalistic design and I think it's very good.

Atomizer

I would say this is not the best atomizer that I have ever seen or been sprayed with but it's okay I would give it a 7 out of 10.

It doesn't spray the same each time you spray. Sometimes it glitches almost it doesn't disperse the fragrance in an even way and sometimes it does so, it's not the best. I must say that the atomizer on the Aventus it's really good I really enjoy it.

Scent

Let's get on to the actual smell of these two fragrances and how do they actually compare?

Just like smelling it Montblanc Explorer, it's a very masculine very attractive sent. Very citrusy at the top I do like patchouli and this has got patchouli. It's very distinct I feel like it might have some chemicals that are quite strong and make it project at the beginning.

I must say that it's a very alpha-male sort of scent. It's a very fresh scent very masculine it's lovely. I'm not the biggest fan. My taste is not these types of fragrances but I do appreciate them.

From the smell definitely, I get a very strong bergamot-like opening. Having said that and it's a very synthetic kind of scent. You can smell that the fragrance is not a natural fragrance it is a more constructed fragrance with lids of our own chemicals.

I really enjoyed though. I really enjoyed the opening of Montblanc the fresh citrus bergamot. Bergamot is one of the best openings for me personally I like that. Bergamot smelling opening is incredibly refreshing as zingy zesty. It's beautiful and it's a very nice scent actually, very attractive, very good for just every day.

Creed Aventus VS Montblanc

From smelling it you've got pineapple of course bergamot, black currant, apple, rose dry birch, Moroccan, jasmine, patchouli-based oak Moss, Berkley, and vanilla.

So Aventus is again a very lovely scent and I do get the similarities between Aventus and Montblanc. Both got a fresh bergamot pineapple. Aventus got a pineapple sort of opening.

They both do share a bergamot fresh opening which is very nice. Mont Blanc is definitely more of a zesty opening than the fruity Aventus one. But as they settle down later down the line they are very similar. I think they are indeed very good dupes.

Montblanc is a good clone

Montblanc is definitely a good dupe of Creed Aventus just because you've got that patchouli note that is very masculine. You've got birch in the woody notes. In Montblanc, you've got the Haitian vetiver in the woody notes.

They are very similar in the scent profile. I would say they're very masculine, Aventus smells even more masculine I would say than the Montblanc Explorer just because it's got that ambergris vanilla and oakmoss.

Those notes to me smell extremely masculine I would struggle to have them being put in a female fragrance because they are very forestry, very masculine kind of strong notes that are often used in to achieve that alpha male fragrance or scent in the fragrance.

What should you choose?

• 7/10 Creed Aventus

To my nose, the differences are mainly that Montblanc Explorer is definitely a bit zestier. If you do prefer that zestiness more than a fruitiness then definitely go for Montblanc Explorer, if you prefer fruitiness go for Creed Aventus.

In terms of scent, I actually do prefer the Montblanc Explorer to Aventus. I think it's just a personal preference of the top notes especially and I just really like how it settles on the skin. I do actually like the scent of Montblanc explorer a bit more than Aventus.

That price difference is huge, Montblanc Explorer is about $60, and Creed Aventus is about $360. For Mont Blanc Explorer I would give it a 7.5 out of 10 and for Creed Aventus 7 out of 10.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of these types of fragrances but I still think they're very muscular and very attractive to the opposite sex. I have seen women go absolutely crazy for both of these fragrances, so I do get it.

Longevity and projection

• 8/10 Creed Aventus

The longevity and projection of these two, I must say that this is where these two fragrances have really kind of separated in two directions.

Montblanc Explorer it's a good scent it's very similar to Aventus but longevity and projection are really lacking. They are not great you have to spray loads and loads of sprays to really be smelt. You can only be smelt very well and have like a little scent bubble around you for about an hour maybe an hour and a half.

Later down the line it's very faint longevity it's more like 4 hours it's not great but for the price, if you're getting Montblanc Explorer you are good to go.

Creed Aventus in most cases depends on the batch definitely because you've kind of have to be lucky which batch are you going to buy and how long-lasting and how protecting the fragrance will be.

That is the kind of gamble you take on an Aventus and you will be spending much more money on this but in general, the projection and the lasting power of Aventus are very good.

I have even worn it and tested it and I have experienced about 6 hours of longevity. So it's different longer than Montblanc and projection are it's quite large actually you get a good center of around you and you will be smelled.

That is really where I would think about which one you want to get because scent profile wise they're similar but you have to respray Montblanc Explorer a lot of times during the day.

So for longevity and projection, I'm going to put them both in the same category. I'm going to give 5 out of 10 to Montblanc Explorer and for Creed Aventus I will give it an 8 out of 10 because in my experience it's not a beast mode but it's very good.

When to wear this fragrance, who do I see it on?

Montblanc Explorer it's a perfect day-to-day fragrance because of its scent projection that is not immense. You can wear it in the office and smell extremely attractive, extremely fresh.

It's a very flattering fragrance if you can say that about a fragrance, so totally wear it to an office it could be an everyday scent. It's inexpensive enough to wear every single day and also respray yourself often during the day.

I also do appreciate the level-like packaging because that will make sure that the glass bottle is kind of protected.

I don't know they meant to do this but I think that it's just a very good thing because a lot of the time if you need to wrap your bottle and respray it during the day your bottle will get scratched and that is not a nice thing to have to happen when you're spending a lot of money on your fragrance.

Who would wear Montblanc Explorer?

I would also see it on a guy, very masculine very, confident very self-assured very confident in himself. This scent also will give you loads of compliments but just make sure to reapply it quite often.

Overall I do think it's a very good fragrance. I do enjoy smelling it a lot and my overall score for this fragrance is a 7.5.

It's a very good fragrance, not my favorite but I do get the hype and I think it's totally an acceptable dupe for Creed Aventus.
